Amstelwood Amstelveen: interior design that leaves room

An apartment doesn't have to be full to feel complete. We examine which furniture and functions you truly need and turn that into a calm, personal interior.

Discuss your property

How much space do you need for a comfortable workspace, a good table, and sufficient storage? In an apartment, every choice influences the next. For Amstelwood, we design these functions together so that custom work and loose furniture reinforce each other instead of taking away space.

Amstelwood is a wood-hybrid residential building in Amstelveen with varying unit sizes. The project homepage cites the third quarter of 2028 as the expected completion date. Which materials remain visible and which installation requirements apply depend on your specific technical specifications. We do not assume visible wooden walls in every residence.

A smaller apartment requires clear priorities

We map out your daily activities. Do you need to be able to video call from home, do you regularly host guests, or do you primarily want to cook in a spacious kitchen? A large table can combine two functions, but it is not the best solution for everyone. We compare the space that furniture actually uses, including chairs and opened cabinet doors.

In a larger apartment, we explore whether extra square footage can offer a separate workspace or a quiet reading corner. The same approach is not simply scaled up. Even there, traffic flow, views, and storage remain important. An unused corner does not necessarily need to be filled with an extra cupboard.

Timber construction does not mean everything has to be wood

The interior starts with the actual existing finish. We combine wood tones, stone, textiles, and color based on your preferences. Too many similar wood tones can create restlessness; a deliberate contrast can help distinguish components from one another.

For built-in cabinets, wall lamps, and other fixtures, we use your home's technical information. We have the executing party verify what is possible before production starts. Floor construction and any building requirements are also checked. A general explanation of timber construction does not replace that verification.

Not every solution needs to be fixed in place

A movable piece of furniture can be attractive if your usage changes later. We reserve custom work for places where it truly solves a problem, such as an awkward niche, a combined work and storage area, or a wardrobe. We compare volume, costs, and flexibility against a loose-standing solution.

Lighting and textiles support the layout. We design spaces for working, reading, and relaxing while keeping privacy at windows in mind. Samples and furniture dimensions make the choices tangible. Your designer can accompany you on showroom visits to compare comfort and finishes.

Overview before you order

You will receive a cohesive proposal with clear priorities. Design guidance, products, and any execution are listed separately. For custom work, we verify dimensions and technical conditions; we coordinate deliveries with access and confirmed completion. An early design does not obligate you to commit to all furniture years in advance.

  • Wishes for working, entertaining, and storage.

Questions about your interior at Amstelwood

Do you also design for smaller apartments?

Yes. We look at your functions, furniture, and circulation space. Combinations of functions and targeted storage can help, but they are always tested against your own floor plan.

Should my interior match a wooden building structure?

It must be technically compatible with your home, but your style does not have to consist entirely of wood. We evaluate the visible finish and check assembly and flooring requirements separately.

Is custom work always the best choice?

No. We compare custom work with standalone furniture in terms of usability, cost, and flexibility. We only recommend a fixed solution when it serves a clear function.
