De Nassau The Hague: personalizing a turn-key residence

A finished home can still truly become your own. We start with the existing quality and add whatever you need to live comfortably, from furniture layout to textiles and lighting.

Discuss your property

A personal interior doesn't always start with remodeling. Especially with a turn-key home, the most value can often be found in the right furniture, lighting, and storage. Rive Home helps you determine what the existing base already offers and which additions are truly necessary.

De Nassau consists of four residences in a municipal monument on Jan van Nassaustraat in The Hague. The project is a renovation, not a new-build shell with a flexible layout. The project site mentions turn-key delivery and expects completion in the third quarter of 2027. We verify the finishes and historical elements of your specific residence based on your own documents.

Let good existing choices do their work

We take inventory of the flooring, kitchen, sanitary facilities, and existing details before proposing a material palette. A neutral fabric or a deliberately chosen color can enhance the existing finishes. The goal is not to re-select every component, but to create cohesion with your own taste.

Historical architecture also requires restraint with assumptions. Not every home has the same ornaments or ceiling heights. We assess what is actually present and have technical possibilities and any necessary permissions checked before making an intervention. A freestanding piece of furniture can sometimes be a better fit than a built-in construction against a unique architectural feature.

One floor level requires a different approach than two

For a single-level apartment, we examine how reception, working, and resting areas can coexist. A cabinet or furniture arrangement can distinguish functions without needing an extra wall. We pay attention to the space around the dining table and the route between the kitchen and seating area.

For a two-level home, we discuss where you spend the most time daily. What items need to be close by, where do guests receive you, and how do you use any outdoor space? We design for life in the home rather than just filling individual rooms. The features of one apartment are not applied to all homes in De Nassau.

Art, textiles, and light provide the personal layer

We include furniture or art you already own from the very first sketch. We check dimensions and positioning and investigate what is still missing. Lighting is tailored to available connections and your usage. A reading lamp, table fixture, or focused accent can change a great deal without directly altering the ceiling.

Showroom visits help to assess fabric, seating comfort, and finishes in real life. For larger furniture, we also check the route inside. Entrances, doors, and stairs can determine whether a product needs to be delivered in parts. We do not assume unrestricted access or an available elevator.

A fitting commission, without unnecessary work

Rive Home can handle design, selection, purchasing guidance, and agreed-upon assembly. Any additional finishing work is assessed and budgeted separately. You will see which components have been definitively chosen, which ones still have alternatives, and when your approval is needed. This keeps the process clear and organized.

  • Floor plan, finishing schedule, and images of your own home.
  • Furniture and art you wish to keep, with dimensions.
  • Your requirements for privacy, working, and storage.
  • The known conditions regarding access and modifications.

Questions about your interior in De Nassau

Is De Nassau a new construction project with a flexible layout?

No. This concerns the renovation of a listed building with turn-key residences. We design based on the confirmed layout and finishing of your own apartment.

Can you personalize my home without any renovations?

Yes. Furniture, art, textiles, lighting, and targeted storage can complement the existing foundation. We only advise additional work if it serves a clear purpose.

Can historical parts be customized?

We do not assess that on the basis of general project images. The actual situation, technical possibilities, and necessary permissions must first be verified by the parties involved.
