Katwijk Sea Dunes: a personal interior in a dune pavilion

Living on the coast does not call for a standard beach interior. We design based on your taste and daily use, with attention to changing light, privacy, and the connection between indoors and outdoors.

Discuss your property

The location may be palpable without fully dictating your interior. A personal home by the sea can be quiet, bold, or rich in color. We seek the balance between the view, your furniture, and the materials you enjoy living with.

Zeeduinen encompasses Duinpaviljoen and Zeebaken in Katwijk aan Zee. The project information specifies completion in the second quarter of 2027 for the current offerings. Apartments and penthouses vary significantly in layout and outdoor space. We base the design on your specific property and have the planning and finishing specifications confirmed.

An interior for sunny days and quiet evenings

We examine where you read, eat, and sit comfortably at different times of the day. A seating area directly by the window can be pleasant during the day, while a second position offers more tranquility or privacy. Furniture is placed to scale; the route to the terrace remains part of the plan.

You don't choose window coverings based on color alone. We look at desired levels of privacy, operation, and the space occupied by open curtains. In the evening, various light sources create functional areas without lighting everything with equal intensity. Mounting on windows, ceilings, or facade components is coordinated with the parties involved.

Choose based on appearance and daily maintenance

A beautiful stone, fabric, or wood finish must fit the intensity with which you use the home. Do you often have guests, walk frequently between the terrace and living room, or are you looking for a low-maintenance foundation? We discuss these habits before materials are finalized.

We view samples alongside flooring, kitchen cabinetry, and textiles. A striking countertop can serve as the centerpiece, with calmer surfaces surrounding it. We ask suppliers for information regarding maintenance and suitability for use. No material is evaluated based solely on a mood board image.

Connect the terrace and living space without forgetting boundaries

A cohesive color or material direction can support the transition to the outdoors. That does not mean the same products are suitable for both inside and out. For outdoor furniture, we have weather resistance, maintenance requirements, and any building regulations checked. A generous outdoor space also requires clear routes and a functional furniture arrangement.

Inside, we look at sightlines from the entrance, dining table, and sofa. A tall cabinet in the wrong place can diminish the sense of space. Targeted custom work can actually add storage without filling up the room. Content, accessibility, and technical access are all incorporated into the design.

Personal guidance toward furnishing

Rive Home can oversee layout, material choices, showroom visits, and agreed-upon execution. We define which components you handle yourself and which we manage. The budget distinguishes between design, products, and implementation work. Orders are only placed after approval of dimensions, choices, and pricing.

Questions about your interior in Zeeduinen / Duinpaviljoen

Should a seaside home have light sandy colors?

No. Your taste is the guiding principle. We look at colors and materials in relation to light, furniture, and usage; the coastal location does not have to result in one fixed style.

Do you also design the connection to the terrace?

We can incorporate the furniture layout and visual coherence. The technical suitability of outdoor products and any building requirements will be verified in advance with the appropriate parties.

Are the images shown from Duinpaviljoen?

No. The Rive Home images on this page are clearly labeled references to other projects. They demonstrate our design language, not a home we built in Zeeduinen.
