The Martin Bajeskwartier: interior design for your home
A new home in Bajeskwartier, with space for your own way of life. We help you translate the floor plan into a comfortable interior, from smart storage space to a well-thought-out lighting and material plan.
How do you turn your home in The Martin into a residence that truly suits you? Not by filling all the rooms at once, but by determining what each space needs to be capable of. Rive Home helps you with layout, materials, and furnishings, and can manage or handle the agreed-upon fit-out work.
The Martin is a design by OMA in Bajeskwartier. The architect announced its completion in July 2026. The project organization describes various apartment types and maisonettes, with a balcony or terrace. This variation is more important for your interior than any single example floor plan. An extra room or a better layout?
A guest room, home office, and quiet bedroom do not always require three separate solutions. We discuss how often you use each function. Sometimes a workspace can become part of a closed cabinet; sometimes a dedicated room deserves priority. The furniture layout makes clear what that means for walking space and daily comfort.
For a maisonette, we also look at the distribution between floors. Which items do you want downstairs every day, where will you entertain guests, and which space remains private? In this way, the design begins with usage rather than a fixed style or standard furniture set.
Designing storage space without closing off the apartment
An apartment can appear spacious and yet lack enough room for coats, supplies, laundry, or work equipment. We take inventory of what you want to store before we draw a cabinet. By combining closed storage space and a few open sections, room remains for art and personal items without everything being in sight.
The position of bespoke work is aligned with windows, doors, installations, and the route to the outside. We check dimensions and the accessibility of technical facilities. Where a freestanding piece of furniture is sufficient, there is no need for a costly fixed solution. You can compare the differences in function, appearance, and budget.
Assessing light and materials in your own home
Once you have the keys, we can view the actual daylight and the existing finishes. We lay out flooring samples, wood tones, curtain fabrics, and wall colors next to each other. Furniture you are bringing with you will also find a place in that ensemble. The lighting plan aligns with reading, cooking, working, and relaxing, with attention to existing connection points.
We can visit showrooms together to experience seating comfort, fabrics, and material finishes. Orders only follow when choices, dimensions, and delivery terms are sufficiently clear. For larger furniture, we also check access via elevator, stairwell, and the front door.
Guidance without unclear additional costs
The proposal describes which spaces we are designing and which drawings, selections, and guidance you will receive. Furniture, bespoke work, and fit-out work tasks remain separately transparent. Changes will have a price and scheduling impact before they are commissioned. If you are already living there, we will discuss whether working in phases fits your daily life.
Start with your own floor plan
- The current drawing and photos of the existing finishes.
- The functions you need, including those for work and guests.
- Furniture that will remain, your taste, and your budget range.
- The desired moving period and known building agreements.
See Residence Amsterdam, Project HH as a separate Rive Home design reference. Your own preferences, rather than a copy of that interior, guide the design of your home in The Martin.

Questions about your interior at The Martin
Can I also apply with a compact apartment?
Yes. The question is what design task and guidance you need, not just how many square meters the house has. We will discuss the necessary functions, your budget, and an appropriate scope for the project.
Do you include my existing furniture in the design?
Yes. We ask for measurements and photos of furniture you wish to keep. We use these for the layout and material choices. This way, you can see what fits and which additions are truly necessary.
Can you start after I have moved?
Yes. Together, we will assess which tasks can be carried out while the property is occupied. We will discuss any phases, delivery times, and potential disturbances in advance. The approach differs between furnishings alone and work on finishes or installations.
