Prinsen Residences Amsterdam: making a move-in ready apartment your own

A finished apartment can still be entirely yours. For Prinsen Residences, the focus is on furniture that fits, well-considered storage space, lighting, and textiles that enhance the existing finish.

Discuss your property

Turn-key does not mean that your own living story has already been written. The foundation is there, but a pleasant place to read, sufficient clothing storage, and a table you truly enjoy sitting at require personal choices. Rive Home helps you harmonize those choices without automatically launching a new renovation.

Prinsen Residences concerns the renovation of Prinsengracht 804 and 806 near the Amstelveld, not a new-build block with shell apartments that can still be laid out freely. The project site describes ten turn-key apartments. Check the current completion state and dimensions of your own apartment; we do not assume the same finishes or historical details in every residence.

A few centimeters can change a major choice

In a compact city home, the depth of a sofa or cupboard makes a noticeable difference. We draw furniture to scale, including the space required to open doors and use chairs. Sometimes a slightly smaller table provides more living comfort than a model with extra seats that are rarely needed.

We also look at the moments when functions shift. Can a workspace be tucked away after working hours? Where are suitcases, cleaning supplies, and clothes kept? A custom solution is only meaningful if it solves a concrete problem. We compare it with freestanding furniture and keep access to technical facilities clear.

Let the existing finish be the starting point

We inventory the floor, kitchen, sanitary facilities, and the actual characteristic elements present. Then we choose textiles, colors, and additional materials. Historical details do not need to be repeated with extra ornaments; a quiet piece of furniture can actually provide contrast and make an existing detail stand out more.

We adjust lighting to match the available connections and your daily use. A reading lamp and soft lighting in the seating area can create a different atmosphere without modifying the ceiling. Building conditions and any necessary permissions are checked first for wall mounting or modifications.

Do not buy based on looks alone; check the route inside as well

For larger furniture, we ask not only for dimensions in the living room, but also for packaging, entrance, stairs, and doors. The actual access is verified; we do not assume there is an elevator or that every piece of furniture can be delivered in one piece.

Your designer can accompany you to showrooms to assess seating comfort, fabric, and scale. We make a selection that fits the agreed budget direction. Procurement support, assembly, and styling can be part of the assignment but are identified separately in advance. You will see which products are final and which still have an alternative.

Start with what is already there

  • The current floor plan and photos of the finishes.
  • A list of belongings and furniture you want to bring.
  • Your requirements for working, entertaining guests, and storage.
  • The available information regarding access and building regulations.

Questions about your interior at Prinsen Residences

Do I need to renovate again for my own style?

No. With a turnkey apartment, we actually start with the existing finishes. Furniture, lighting, textiles, and carefully chosen additions can make the interior personal.

Is a small apartment suitable for custom-made solutions?

That is possible, for example if a niche or workspace becomes more usable as a result. We compare custom work with freestanding furniture and assess function, technical feasibility, and budget before we recommend it.

Can you supervise the delivery and installation?

Yes, within a pre-agreed assignment. We coordinate delivery options, access, assembly, and any styling. The practical situation of the building is checked first.
