Willow Amsterdam: smart and personal living in MIX

What is your apartment missing to make it feel like home? Often, it is not a major renovation, but a better furniture layout, a proper workspace, or storage that doesn’t take over the entire room. At Willow, we start with the existing base and the functions you need on a daily basis.

Willow is the residential building with 45 owner-occupied apartments within MIX Amsterdam near Osdorpplein. The official project site describes two- and three-room apartments with a kitchen and bathroom, with availability starting September 2026. Be sure to confirm the actual transfer date and finishing state of your specific home; a general date does not prove that every unit has been delivered yet.

Don't assign a fixed function to an extra room too quickly

A guest room that stands empty for most of the week can also be a great workspace. Conversely, it is not always comfortable to work at the dining table permanently. We discuss how often you work from home, how many guests stay over, and what you need to store. Then, we compare layout variants using real furniture dimensions.

In the living room, we keep the route to the balcony clear. We coordinate the position of the sofa, table, and television with daylight and usage. A narrow cabinet can provide sufficient storage space where a deeper model would obstruct traffic. It is not about having as much furniture as possible, but about the right dimensions and functions.

Building upon the kitchen and bathroom

We incorporate the existing kitchen fronts, countertop, and bathroom finishes into the color and material plan. New furniture does not need to be the exact same color. It is precisely the balance between light and dark elements, calm surfaces, and tactile textures that makes the interior personal.

We select window treatments based on privacy, light, and the space next to the window. We distribute lighting for dining, working, reading, and relaxing. We examine what can be done with existing electrical outlets; technical changes are only made if necessary and feasible. In a showroom, you can compare fabrics, seating comfort, and finishes with your designer.

Spend your budget on what you actually use

We distinguish between necessary purchases, useful additions, and wishes that can wait. A good desk chair or a suitable wardrobe can mean more than several decorative pieces. Existing items are not automatically written off: we assess what fits into the new layout.

Rive Home can assist with design, product selection, and the agreed-upon execution or installation. You will receive a clearly defined scope of work and an overview of costs per component. We check final dimensions, supplier terms, and building access before scheduling deliveries. Once moved in, we also discuss the sequence of installation and any potential disruptions.
